About Course
Module 1 ends with invention. After asking “why do we need AI?”, learners design their own AI helper – for homework, for pets, for grandparents, for the planet – write about it, and present it.
The invention project is deliberately open. Some learners design homework helpers, some design pet-feeders, some tackle climate – what matters is spotting a real problem and explaining how AI could help.
What your child will do
• Group discussion: “Why do we need AI? Where have you seen AI in action?”
• Design Your Own AI Helper – an AI from the treasure hunt, or a brand-new idea – and draw how it works
• Reflection Journal: “My AI Invention” – how could it help people in healthcare, school or at home?
• Mini quiz, then Badge and Goodbye to Module 1
By the end, your child can
• Identify a real problem and imagine an AI solution
• Present an idea clearly to others
• Reflect on what they’ve learned
Learning focus (Fink’s Taxonomy of Significant Learning): Caring · Learning How to Learn.
Completes Module 1 of the 4–5 curriculum, with a certificate of completion. Part of Grades 4–5: Mission: AI Explorers, Module 1 – What is AI? – Exploring the Brain of Machines and Humans, Week 4. Next lesson: Teaching an AI Friend – The Role of Data.
