6-8:12:Combining AI Senses – Project Showcase & Future Impact

The grades 6–8 curriculum ends with a showcase. Students combine vision, voice and movement into one AI concept, bring it to life, and reflect on how AI helps people.

The showcase is where three modules come together. Students choose a problem, decide which AI senses solve it, and present a concept – practising the systems thinking and communication that the 9–12 curriculum builds on.

What students do
• Combining AI Senses: a smart assistant that responds to voice, recognises faces and controls lights
• Awareness – Bringing Your AI to Life: design an AI avatar or mock robot that combines senses (sees a danger and warns you by voice; hears a command and moves to help)
• Project presentations, and a matching activity linking senses to real jobs (a factory robot uses vision to see parts and movement to assemble them)
• Reflection – How AI Helps People, especially people with disabilities – then Final Reflection and Congratulations

By the end, students can
• Systems thinking
• Presenting a project
• Focusing AI on positive impact

Learning focus (Fink’s Taxonomy of Significant Learning): Integration · Human Dimension · Learning How to Learn.
