About Course
Module 3 asks a big question: can a robot think like me? Grades K–3 compare a human brain with a robot’s “brain” and find out what each one is good at – and what only people can do.
Module 3 shifts from what AI does to what it is not. Children this age are ready to notice that a robot doesn’t get hungry, doesn’t feel sad and doesn’t have friends – and that those differences matter.
What your child will do
• Sing and move to the “Brains at Work” song
• Class talk: “What do we use our brains for?” with pictures of a human brain and a robot’s circuit-board “brain”
• Start a Brain Chart: what humans can do, what robots can do – then a true/false check
• Ending: “So, Can Robots Think Like Me?”
By the end, your child can
• Humans feel, imagine and choose; robots follow instructions and patterns
• Simple vocabulary for comparing people and machines
• Respect for what makes people special
Learning focus (Fink’s Taxonomy of Significant Learning): Foundational Knowledge · Learning How to Learn.
Video, a chart-making activity and a true/false check. Part of Grades K–3: Adventures in AI Land, Module 3 – Can AI Think Like Me?, Week 1. Next lesson: Let’s Pretend! – AI vs Me Roleplay.
